‘Glasgow Minnows’ – Ewan Murray at Ibrox publicly Mocks and shade Rangers & Celtic to Lyon after Hearts win

Rangers embarrass themselves at home against Lyon
Ewan Murray witnessed firsthand as Philippe Clement’s team crumbled under the pressure against Lyon at Ibrox. Despite a strong performance with a 2-0 victory over Malmo the week before, Rangers failed to maintain their momentum.

The sarcastic remark about the “Glasgow minnows” leaving Hearts to salvage the European coefficient flag highlights the disappointing loss for both Rangers and Celtic. While Hearts managed a late win against Dinamo Minsk, Rangers’ defeat to Lyon did little to bolster Scotland’s standing in European competition.

The match saw Vaclav Cerny missing a clear shot at goal and Connor Barron committing a costly error that allowed Lyon to capitalize on their mistakes. Alexandre Lacazette and Malik Fofana took full advantage, securing a comfortable lead for the French side.

Although the result may not have been unexpected given Lyon’s strength and resources, the manner in which Rangers fell apart will surely frustrate Clement. His team will need to regroup quickly after such a heavy defeat, especially following a strong response to their loss in the Old Firm derby.

Moving forward, Clement will need to address his team’s errors and make more strategic decisions to ensure they bounce back from this setback.
