Leicester City team news v Birmingham as Patson Daka keeps place ahead of Kelechi Iheanacho

Leicester City’s lineup at St Andrew’s features the return of James Justin in place of Conor Coady, while Patson Daka remains in the starting lineup with Kelechi Iheanacho on the bench.

Daka has earned his spot ahead of Iheanacho after scoring in the last two matches in place of the injured Jamie Vardy and Iheanacho. Despite Iheanacho being available again after recovering from illness, manager Enzo Maresca has opted to give Daka another opportunity as the striker.

Justin’s return is the only change to the team that secured victory against Millwall, with Conor Coady making way and Wout Faes moving back into a central position from left-back. Maresca has opted for his strongest lineup with no need for rotation given the gap between matches.

Injury still sidelines wingers Kasey McAteer, Yunus Akgun, and Marc Albrighton, but Harry Souttar returns to the bench alongside Iheanacho. However, Dennis Praet is absent, and Tawanda Maswanhise has been omitted from the squad. Danny Ward is listed as a substitute alongside Coady.

Leicester City’s lineup for the match is as follows: Hermansen; Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin; Winks, Ndidi, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Daka, Mavididi. Subs: Stolarczyk, Ward, Coady, Souttar, Nelson, Choudhury, Casadei, Iheanacho, Cannon.
