Sevilla facing difficult task of holding onto Leicester City star man amid Napoli interest to hijack

As the summer transfer window came to a close, Sevilla secured the signing of Boubakary Soumare on a year-long loan deal from English Championship club Leicester City. The French midfielder has played in 14 games for Sevilla this season, but has not made a big impact.

Nevertheless, there is still hope for Soumare at Sevilla, particularly after a strong showing against Granada in Quique Sanchez Flores’ first game as manager. It’s clear that the club wants to keep the 24-year-old player until the end of the season.

But that might not be possible. According to Di Marzio (via Estadio Deportivo), Napoli is looking into a potential move for Soumare during the winter. Leicester would likely accept a permanent offer in January, and this could have a big impact on Sevilla.

Sevilla holds a €15m buy option for Soumare, but they don’t plan on using it until the end of the season, if at all. This opens the door for Napoli to make a move, which would be a setback for Quique.
