Celtic continue to do their talking on the field after an eventual week.
A lot was said about Celtic’s penalty shootout win over Rangers in the League Cup final and those penalty cries.
More has been said about Rangers not getting a penalty against Celtic, that some seem to forget that Brendan Rodgers’ side won their 119th trophy of their illustrious history.
What is another fact is that the Bhoys are the kings in the Premiership and sitting at the top of the table.
There are even some who think there isn’t much of a gap between Celtic and Rangers, but one man who remains realistic is Kris Boyd.
Kris Boyd says Celtic ‘by far’ the best team in Scotland after Rangers beat Dundee
A lot was made of Rangers’ performance against Celtic and how Philippe Clement’s side played out of their skin.
But Kris Boyd says his former side were ‘like the Rangers of before’ when they beat Dundee 1-0 at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.
Celtic take on Dundee United on Sunday where they can go 11 points clear with a win.
Before that match, and after Rangers’ latest win, Boyd said ‘Celtic will win the league’ and how he is ‘worried’ by what he is seeing from his side, as he told Sky Sports News (21/12/24 at 5:50 pm).
“I think Celtic will win the league,” admitted Boyd. “They are, by far the best team in Scotland, at this moment.
“You look at Rangers, they just have to keep winning games and see where it takes them. They were a long way behind Aberdeen a few weeks ago. Aberdeen are on a poor run. No win on five or six, but Rangers have managed to turn the last few weeks a little bit.
“But today, you will be a little bit worried, because it’s like the Rangers of before, albeit, they found a way to win a game of football. But you would have been looking for a far more straightforward victory, that’s for sure.”
Celtic’s Premiership fixtures ahead of Ibrox trip
Celtic are going strong in the Champions League, but they still need to do a little bit more to all but confirm their spot in the play-off places.
If Rodgers can further extend the gap, ahead of the return of European football in January, then it will allow the team to put everything in the Champions League basket.
Especially for the two-legged knockout games in February because it has been a long time since Celtic played European football post-Christmas.
