Leeds United have set their sights on River Plate’s goalkeeper, Jeremias Ledesma, as a potential transfer target for the upcoming winter market. Reports from River Noticias suggest that the 31-year-old is on Leeds’ radar and they are keen to bring him to Elland Road.
Ledesma joined River Plate last summer from Cádiz CF but has only played four games so far and has not been featured since October. Manager Marcelo Gallardo has often preferred captain Franco Armani over Ledesma in the past year.
Pasión Fútbol also reports on Leeds’ interest in the Argentine goalkeeper, stating that Daniel Farke’s side is very interested in acquiring Ledesma in the current transfer window. Gallardo is reportedly open to letting Ledesma go since he hasn’t been a regular starter for River Plate.
Although Celta Vigo and Deportivo Alavés have shown interest in bringing Ledesma back to Spain, Leeds remain a top contender for his services. With Illan Meslier as their first-choice goalkeeper and deals for Karl Darlow and Alex Cairns expiring in 2026, Ledesma could be a valuable addition to the Leeds United squad.
