DEAL CONFIRMED-ANOTHER HUGE DEPARTURE: Hull City set to beat Luton Town & Wrexham to Leeds United transfer deal

Hull City are on the verge of completing the acquisition of Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt.

In a report by Hull Live, it has been revealed that the Tigers are close to finalizing a deal that will see Gelhardt join Ruben Selles’ team on loan for the remainder of the season.

Despite struggling for playing time at Elland Road under Daniel Farke, having only made two appearances in the Championship this season, Gelhardt has attracted interest from clubs such as Wrexham and Luton Town. He previously impressed during a loan spell at Sunderland, contributing three goals and three assists in 18 appearances during the 2022/23 campaign.

After being the subject of transfer speculation this January, Hull appears to be leading the race for Gelhardt’s signature. Selles has reportedly been eager to secure the signing to bolster the team’s chances in their relegation battle.

Currently positioned 22nd in the Championship table, Hull has played one more game than their rivals in the fight against relegation. Gelhardt’s potential arrival will provide a much-needed offensive boost for the struggling Tigers, who are aiming to climb out of the bottom three.

With an upcoming fixture against Millwall on the horizon, Gelhardt’s addition could prove crucial in helping Hull City navigate through a challenging period and steer clear of potential relegation. His previous success at Sunderland suggests he has the potential to make a significant impact at his new club under Selles’ guidance.
