Despite already being two goals ahead, Robertson’s strike was ruled out due to a foul called against Josh Mulligan for his challenge on Ridvan Yilmaz. Rangers later mounted a remarkable comeback to secure a victory, but Docherty maintains that the disallowed goal was a pivotal moment in the game.
Docherty expressed his frustration, stating, “Upon reviewing the footage, I see no reason why Fin’s goal should have been disallowed. I don’t believe Josh fouled Yilmaz, it was an exceptional goal that would have put us 3-0 in front. It was well-deserved.”
In more positive news for Dundee, Simon Murray, who sustained a calf injury late in the game, is expected to be fit for their upcoming match against St Mirren. Despite initial concerns, medical assessments have determined that he will be available for selection.
