Kris Boyd shares ‘Big problem’ at Rangers for Athletic Bilbao clash

Rangers are set to face Athletic Club in the Europa League quarter-finals, but concerns are growing ahead of the tie. The team’s recent 2-0 loss to Hibernian at home has added to the worries, and interim boss Barry Ferguson will have tough decisions to make.

One major problem for Rangers is the suspension of centre-back John Souttar, who picked up his third yellow card in the competition against Fenerbahce. Former Rangers star Kris Boyd expressed his concerns about Souttar’s unavailability, stating it’s a “big problem” for the team.

Ferguson may need to make defensive changes, potentially reverting to a three-centre-back system. Options to replace Souttar include James Tavernier, Ridvan Yilmaz, Robin Propper, and Leon Balogun. The team will also be without Mohamed Diomande, making the tie even more challenging.

The Europa League is Rangers’ only hope to salvage the season, but getting past Athletic Club will be tough. Despite concerns, some fans may hold out hope that the team will rise to the occasion, as they have done in other big games this season.
