Deal completed to sign West Ham Ace in the coming hours: “here we go”

L’Equipe reported on Monday that German international Thilo Kehrer will be joining Ligue 1 club Monaco on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy. It is expected that the deal will be completed in the coming hours, as Monaco has the upper hand in negotiations with fellow French side Nice also expressing interest in signing the 27-year-old.

This move is in the best interest of all parties involved, as Kehrer is looking for more regular playing time and is not part of West Ham United’s plans for the season. While West Ham won’t receive an immediate transfer fee, Kehrer’s wages will be off the books and they could potentially earn money if he performs well at Monaco.

Since joining West Ham from PSG in 2022, Kehrer has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup, making only 12 appearances this season and playing just 19 minutes in the Premier League. With his situation unlikely to change in East London, this move allows West Ham to potentially free up space for a new signing.
