“We played better and deserve the win” : Thomas Frank ecstatically praises Brentford heroes for stunning victory over Premier League giants Brighton & Hove Albion

Brentford manager Thomas Frank praised his team after their thrilling 4-2 win over 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion at the Gtech Community Stadium. The victory marked Brentford’s first Premier League win at home since December and was fueled by a Bryan Mbeumo brace, followed by goals from Yoane Wissa and Christian Nørgaard.

Frank was delighted with his team’s performance, saying, “It was a fantastic and very important win. I’m very happy that we were back to our best at the Gtech.” He highlighted the team’s threat going forward, particularly in the first 15 minutes of both halves.

Mbeumo opened the scoring early on, and despite Danny Welbeck’s equalizer before halftime, the Cameroon international added a second goal in the second half. Wissa also scored, but Brighton’s João Pedro was sent off for a physical altercation with Nathan Collins.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Brighton managed to reduce the deficit through substitute Kaoru Mitoma. However, Nørgaard sealed the win with a late header, leaving Mbeumo beaming with delight.

The win moved Brentford to 11th place, and the team will enjoy a two-week break before their next match against Nottingham Forest. Mbeumo emphasized the importance of winning at home, saying, “The more points we can get at home, the better.”
