COLCHESTER have been linked with a move to sign West Ham 19-year-old highly-rated forward

Colchester United is reportedly eyeing a loan move for West Ham United’s talented young striker, Callum Marshall. The U’s interest in the 19-year-old forward has been noted in the Belfast Telegraph. Marshall, a promising Glengormley-born player, has yet to make his senior debut for West Ham but has already played for the Northern Ireland senior team. He joined West Ham in January 2022 and was part of their FA Youth Cup-winning team last season. Standing at 5ft 8in, Marshall can play as a striker and a winger and has been impressive for West Ham’s under-21 side. Colchester’s sporting director, Dmitri Halajko, is familiar with Marshall from his time as the academy boss at the London Stadium. West Ham is reportedly discussing contract talks with Marshall, potentially paving the way for a loan move in January. Colchester is actively seeking a new striker following the recall of their top goalscorer, Joe Taylor, by parent club Luton Town. They hope to secure a deal this week to bolster their forward options as they prepare for their upcoming League Two fixture against Swindon Town.
