Leeds United fans celebrated a 6-0 win over Stoke City and securing automatic promotion back to the Premier League. The victory sparked a mass party at Elland Road, with fans packed outside the ground.
The win was also significant for Daniel Farke, who guided Leeds back into the top flight for the second time. However, the real story of the day was 16-year-old attacker Harry Gray, who made his Leeds United debut.
Gray became the fifth member of the Gray family to play for Leeds, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Frank, great uncle Eddie, father Andy, and brother Archie. He came off the bench late in the game, wearing the number 45 shirt, and was beaming with joy.
After the game, Gray posted a message on Instagram, thanking Farke for the opportunity and saying it was a “special” moment. He also praised the fans, saying they deserved the promotion more than anyone.
With two games left to play, Gray may get more chances to feature. Leeds host Bristol City next Monday and then travel to Plymouth Argyle on May 3. The team will aim to win the Championship title, and Gray will be hoping to get more minutes in the final games of the season.
