Wolves are gearing up to sell a number of players this summer, with Fabio Silva expected to be among those on the transfer list.
Reports suggest that Silva will be departing Wolves permanently this summer, five years after his arrival from FC Porto.
Last summer, Wanderers tried to offload Silva without success, leading to a loan move to Las Palmas, which turned out to be his most successful loan spell so far.
After impressively scoring 10 goals in 25 appearances for Las Palmas, Silva will return to Wolves to determine his future.
Despite missing the final six games of the season due to injury, Silva’s successful season has been recognized with a nomination for the La Liga U23 Player of the Season award.
This nomination could potentially increase Wolves’ bargaining power in selling Silva this summer, as they aim to recoup part of the £35 million they initially paid Porto for his transfer.
With a strong interest from multiple clubs and Silva’s recent accolade, Wolves may now be able to ask for a higher transfer fee than the previously suggested £21 million.
While it is likely that Silva will not win the U23 Player of the Season award, his nomination has undoubtedly boosted his market value and provided Wolves with an opportunity to bolster their transfer kitty this summer.
