Ange wants to sign £15m Champions League star that Conte also had his eyes on

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Galatasaray winger Kerem Akturkoglu, a player who was previously targeted by former Spurs manager Antonio Conte. According to Fotomac, current Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is a big admirer of Akturkoglu and is closely monitoring his performances. However, there is also interest from rival club Arsenal.

Both North London clubs are said to be keeping a close eye on Akturkoglu during Galatasaray’s upcoming Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, which takes place after the international break.

Akturkoglu, who has contributed five goals and seven assists in 16 appearances this season, is believed to have a price tag of €17million (£14.6million).

It is intriguing to note that Postecoglou’s interest in the Turkish international mirrors that of his predecessor, Conte, who was known to have been monitoring Akturkoglu while at Spurs. Aksam previously reported in March 2022 that both Tottenham and Arsenal were considering a move for the versatile left-winger.

Highlighted by Breaking the Lines, Akturkoglu is known for his instinctive finishing ability and his knack for creating scoring opportunities through intelligent positioning. At 24 years old, he has a promising future and valuable experience in the Champions League.

Considering his potential and the relatively affordable price, Akturkoglu could be a valuable addition to Tottenham’s attacking options.
