DEAL CONFIRMED: Tottenham to seal second transfer signing for January

Tottenham have a strong advantage in their pursuit of Genoa’s Radu Dragusin, as they look to secure their second January signing after Timo Werner. Football.London reports that Spurs are in talks with Genoa, initially offering £18 million while the Italian club is holding out for £26 million. It is believed they may settle on a fee of around £23 million.

Meanwhile, Napoli is attempting to sway Genoa with a player-plus-cash deal, but Tottenham holds the upper hand when it comes to playing time for Dragusin. The injuries to their backline mean he could potentially slot straight into the starting XI.

With Micky van de Ven returning to training but Cristian Romero and Eric Dier still sidelined, and Ben Davies also suffering a hamstring injury, Dragusin could partner with Van de Ven in defense. Tottenham is eager to finalize the deal soon as their injury crisis worsens, and they still have other areas of the squad to address.

Their first January signing is said to be a striker, with Timo Werner set to join on loan from RB Leipzig. The German international is expected to arrive in London soon to complete his move, as Leipzig’s manager confirmed his desire to go on loan and aims for a spot in the European Championship.
