€25m MEGA DEAL CONFIRMED: Sunderland pushing to complete sensational signing as they submit higher offer to seal deal.

Sunderland confirmed the signing of Armand Lauriente from Sassuolo and now have their sights set on securing another player from Serie A.

Their target is Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi, who has also attracted interest from Bournemouth and AS Roma.

Reports from Corriere di Bologna suggest that Sunderland are actively pursuing Lucumi, despite concerns about whether he would be willing to join a team not competing in European competitions next season.

Lucumi’s contract with Bologna is set to expire in the summer of 2027, and while the club is looking to extend his deal, there are doubts about whether he will agree. If Lucumi rejects the renewal offer, he could be available for around €25m.

Sunderland are preparing to make an offer of over €20m for the defender, after their initial bid was turned down by Bologna.

While Bournemouth and AS Roma have shown interest in Lucumi, they are not mentioned in the latest report. It appears that Sunderland is now at the forefront of the race to sign the Colombian center-back.
