TRANSFER TARGET REVOKED: Tottenham makes U-Turn

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided to end their pursuit of Al-Ittihad winger Jota, after weeks of speculation linking the Portuguese star with a move to the Premier League club.

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, has been said to be eager to add a versatile attacker to his squad, with Jota being his top choice. Reports suggested that Spurs were considering a loan move for the 24-year-old, who was reportedly interested in a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham had even reached out to Al-Ittihad to inquire about a deal for Jota. However, TEAMtalk has now reported that the Saudi Pro League club are open to letting Jota leave in January, just six months after signing him from Celtic for £26m.

While several top sides are rumored to be interested in bringing Jota on board, it is now being alleged that Tottenham is not one of them, as the club has decided to drop their interest in the winger.

It is speculated that Tottenham would have only been interested in a loan deal for Jota, as doubts linger about his ability to perform at the Premier League level. Additionally, his reported wages of £180,000 per week could have posed a challenge for the club.
