L’Équipe reports that Feyenoord is eyeing a move for promising Moroccan talent Ibrahim Salah from Rennes. After FC Lorient, Toulouse, Brest, Leicester City, and Olympiacos, the Eredivisie champions are the latest team to show interest in the forward.
Since his €6.5m transfer from Gent in January 2023, 22-year-old Salah has made just 24 appearances in Ligue 1. Despite his versatility in the frontline, he has not been utilized enough by a struggling Rennes side. Feyenoord has initiated talks with Rennes, who are open to letting the Belgian-born player leave on loan this month.
While Salah made an impressive impact by scoring a quick brace in Rennes’ season opener, his playing time has diminished significantly since November 12th. With Feyenoord seeking to improve their attacking options, the competition for Salah’s signature from other top clubs will be fierce.
Amid their struggle to replicate the success of the previous season, where they made an incredible title charge, Feyenoord currently sits in second place in the Eredivisie table, trailing ten points behind league leaders PSV Eindhoven.
