OFFICIALLY A DONE DEAL: Sunderland land £7M-rated former Chelsea player

Sunderland have completed a record-breaking transfer window, securing a total of 15 new signings to bolster their squad for the upcoming Premier League season.

After a promising start with two wins and one loss in the league, the Black Cats have wrapped up their recruitment efforts. In a surprising move, the club announced the acquisition of experienced winger Bertrand Traoré, valued at £7 million and formerly of Chelsea.

Traoré, 29, has signed a one-year deal with the option to extend for another year, bringing his wealth of Premier League experience to the team. Sporting Director, Kristjaan Speakman, highlighted Traoré’s unique profile as a left-footed right-winger, adding a different dimension to the squad’s attacking options.

The Burkina Faso international expressed his excitement at returning to the Premier League and joining a club of Sunderland’s stature. Traoré’s versatility and skill on the ball will provide manager Regis Le Bris with tactical flexibility and strength in the forward line.
