Why Nuno Espírito Santo left Omari Hutchinson out of Europa League squad, the latest twist in Edu relationship and what it means for Nottingham Forest manager’s future

Nuno Espirito Santo has made a bold move by excluding one of his major summer signings from Nottingham Forest’s Europa League squad.

After a surprising seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, Nottingham Forest earned a spot in the Europa League due to Crystal Palace’s CAS ruling. Santo has added 13 new players to strengthen the team.

Unfortunately, UEFA rules limited Forest to a 22-man squad due to a lack of ‘club-trained’ players. This led to the exclusion of players like Omari Hutchinson and Oleksandr Zinchenko, signed for a total of £37.5million.

This decision may prove challenging for Santo as he aims to navigate the demands of European football. Despite their absence from the Europa League squad, Hutchinson and Zinchenko may have a chance to showcase their talent in the Premier League and prove themselves to the manager.
