Nottingham Forest, Leeds United’s Premier League rivals, have announced the appointment of former Tottenham manager, Ange Postecoglou. He is taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo, who was dismissed on Monday evening following a dispute with the club owner, Evangelos Marinakis.
Postecoglou, who has been without a job since leaving Spurs in June, is making a rapid return to management as Forest’s new head coach. The Australian was let go by the North London team just 16 days after leading them to victory in the Europa League.
Now, he has the opportunity to once again coach in the Premier League and European competitions at the City Ground, with Marinakis hoping for success and trophies under his leadership. Marinakis praised Postecoglou’s track record of winning trophies and stated his belief that he is the right person to help Forest achieve their goals.
With Forest set to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday, Postecoglou will soon be back in North London for a high-profile match.
