ANOTHER TRANSFER DEAL: Tottenham enter race with Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle to sign highly-rated midfielder in Premier League

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about which club will land Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City. While Newcastle United has been the main focus of speculation, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked to the highly-rated midfielder. All four clubs could benefit from bolstering their midfield ranks in the upcoming transfer window.

However, there is some good news for these potential suitors, as it seems that Juventus is no longer in the running to sign Phillips. Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth reported that Juventus has dropped out of the race, with their manager Massimiliano Allegri apparently happy with their current squad and not in need of a player like Phillips.

According to Sheth, a loan deal might be the best option for Man City to increase Phillips’ transfer value before potentially selling him in the future. If Phillips were to return to England contention and make the Euro 2024 squad, it would only improve his market value.

As the transfer window unfolds, it will be interesting to see which club will secure Phillips’s services. While Newcastle may fancy their chances of landing him on loan, it may not be as straightforward for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs, who are all direct rivals for the title.
