Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris has been transparent about the conditions of a deal: Anthony Patterson will not be allowed to leave unless a suitable backup for current number one Robin Roefs is secured.

”It’s always tough when players aren’t playing… you are frustrated, which is normal. But competition is competition… and the best players are playing right now.”

Millwall is desperate to land the goalkeeper as they push for promotion to the Premier League. While Leicester City, Southampton, and QPR have also shown interest in Patterson, Millwall appeared to be the frontrunners.
