Tottenham are reportedly keen on signing 22-year-old key player from Leicester City who plays important role for the club

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly eyeing a move for 22-year-old English winger Kasey McAteer from Championship club Leicester City. According to Give Me Sport, Tottenham has shown interest in signing McAteer, but a transfer this year seems unlikely. Despite this, the 22-year-old has become a key player for Leicester City, scoring five goals across all competitions this season.

Ben Jacobs claims that Tottenham has been monitoring McAteer for some time and could make a move for him in 2025. McAteer’s contract with Championship club Leicester City runs until the summer of 2025, making him potentially available for a reasonable price at the end of the season. If he does not sign an extension with Leicester City, they will be under pressure to sell him to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2025.

Jacobs believes that McAteer would fit well into Spurs’ current style of play, adding goals and intensity to their attack. The opportunity to join a big Premier League club will be attractive for the young winger, but it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached between the clubs.

Meanwhile, Leicester City will be aiming for promotion to the Premier League, with McAteer playing a crucial role for them. On the other hand, Tottenham is fighting for Champions League qualification, and their interest in McAteer reflects their desire to build a strong squad for the future.

A move to Tottenham would be a significant step in McAteer’s career, with manager Ange Postecoglou potentially playing a key role in his development. Spurs could also provide him with the platform to showcase his abilities in the Champions League and compete for trophies.
