Rumors are swirling that Premier League team West Ham is eyeing defender Seol Young-woo, who is currently competing for Korea in the Asian Cup in Qatar. ExWHUEmployee, a reliable source for West Ham information and co-host of The West Ham Way podcast, reported the potential move. Seol, a regular for the Korean national team, currently plays as a defender for K League 1 team Ulsan HD, which has dominated the domestic first division. With several achievements including being named the K League’s Player of the Month and earning a spot in the 2023 K League Awards’ best XI, Seol has made a name for himself in the sport. If the move goes through, Seol would be joining a small but increasing group of Korean players in top-tier clubs in Europe. West Ham has yet to sign a Korean player to their men’s squad, but they have previously signed Korean player Cho So-hyun for their Women’s Super League side. The Premier League’s January transfer window is set to close on Feb. 1, so fans will be eagerly awaiting any developments.
