US Lecce’s Jamil Siebert has reportedly emerged as a fresh defensive candidate for Crystal Palace as they begin to finalize their recruitment strategy for the upcoming summer transfer window. The center-back’s recent run of form for the Serie A outfit has caused the decision-makers at Selhurst Park to take significant notice of his development in Italy.
Siebert’s journey to the top flight began in Germany, where he progressed through the youth ranks at Fortuna Düsseldorf before breaking into their senior squad in 2020. Seeking more consistent minutes, the defender spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at Viktoria Köln to gain valuable experience. In August 2025, he made a permanent move from the German second tier to Serie A, though his transition was not immediate. During the first half of the previous season, he found opportunities scarce, managing only two league appearances as he adjusted to the tactical demands of Italian football.
However, the 24-year-old’s standing within the squad underwent a massive transformation under the guidance of manager Eusebio Di Francesco at the start of the current calendar year. Because the defender’s current contract does not include a release clause, Crystal Palace will be required to enter formal negotiations with US Lecce to determine a transfer fee if they decide to bring the player to Selhurst Park.

Siebert is currently tied to Lecce until 2028, and his contract includes a mutual option to extend that stay by an additional two years. The German agency BeLoyal GmbH is currently representing the defender in discussions. Given the combination of his contract status, his upwardly mobile performance levels, and his reasonable market value, Siebert appears to be a highly attainable target. Earlier this month, reports suggested Palace were looking at Real Betis’ Natan de Souza; however, with the Brazilian valued at a steep €40m, Siebert presents a much more budget-friendly alternative for the Eagles’ backline.
