Scottish Premiership side Rangers could be set to lose one of their brightest young talents this summer, as Ajax and Schalke reportedly battle for the signature of midfielder Bailey Rice.
The 19-year-old is approaching the end of his current contract, which expires in June, and has yet to agree fresh terms with the Glasgow club. That situation has alerted several European sides, with Ajax and Schalke emerging as the frontrunners. Reports suggest Schalke have already presented personal terms to the player, signaling serious intent.
Rice’s season has been disrupted by a serious training-ground injury suffered in November, which required surgery and ruled him out for several months.
