Rangers are preparing for a significant squad reshuffle this summer, with as many as four players now expected to leave the club following the confirmed departure of club captain James Tavernier.
Tavernier has already announced he will leave Ibrox when his contract expires at the end of the season, bringing an end to a long and successful spell in Glasgow. However, he will not be the only familiar name heading for the exit as new manager Danny Rohl begins shaping his squad for the future.
According to reports, Nasser Djiga, Jayden Meghoma, Max Aarons, and Derek Cornelius are all set to depart Rangers once their current loan agreements conclude.
Loan players unlikely to stay
All four players are currently at the club on temporary deals, but their futures now appear to lie elsewhere.
Djiga’s situation is particularly complex. While Rohl is believed to be keen on keeping the defender beyond this season, parent club Wolves are expected to recall him, especially following their relegation, with plans to integrate him into their Championship campaign.
Meghoma, meanwhile, is highly rated at Brentford. The Premier League club sanctioned his loan move to Rangers to secure valuable first-team experience, but are now expected to bring him back into their plans for next season.
At the back, Derek Cornelius has struggled to establish himself in the Rangers setup and has fallen out of favour in recent months, with little indication that his situation will change.
Max Aarons has featured more regularly but has not done enough to convince the club’s hierarchy that he should remain a long-term option at Ibrox.
Rohl planning a major rebuild
The expected departures are part of a broader summer rebuild under Danny Rohl, who is preparing for what could be one of the most important transfer windows in recent Rangers history.
With Tavernier already confirmed to be leaving, the defensive structure of the squad will require major attention, and replacements will be a priority heading into pre-season.
