Reports are circulating that West Ham United is closing in on a major signing, and it seems they are not finished yet in the January transfer window.
There have been several reports throughout Tuesday indicating that the Hammers have reached a loan deal for Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips.
Now, there are reports linking West Ham to an attacking player, as David Moyes is keen to strengthen their front line before the window closes.
According to Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports and the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel, talks are actively underway for the 19-year-old attacker Ibrahim Osman, with the Hammers in discussions with Nordsjaelland.
Sheth specified that West Ham is seeking a permanent deal for Osman, a Ghana youth international who graduated from the Right to Dream academy, the same academy as West Ham fan favorite Mohammed Kudus.
Osman has shown promise in Denmark, making 39 competitive appearances for Nordsjaelland, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
In terms of playing style, Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout compared Osman to Real Madrid and Brazil star Vinicius Jr., listing pace, acceleration, dynamism, dribbling, ball control, creativity, agility, and bravery as his main strengths.
As for a potential price tag, Ben Jacobs recently reported that Nordsjaelland “expect at least €15m (£13m) and may hold out for €20m (£17m).”
This is an encouraging development for West Ham as they are on the brink of signing one of England’s top midfielders and are also in pursuit of a top attacking talent.
