The Netherlands international only joined Sunderland in the final stages of a busy transfer window, arriving from Ajax in a move that initially required patience as he built up full match fitness. Since then, however, Brobbey has quickly established himself as a key attacking figure under manager Régis Le Bris, combining physical presence with improved sharpness in front of goal.
His breakthrough moment came with a goal against Arsenal in a 2-2 draw, a performance that marked the start of his growing influence in the Premier League. Since then, he has earned praise for his work rate and ability to trouble defenders, becoming an important part of Sunderland’s push for a strong top-flight campaign.
Recent reports in Germany have suggested Bayern Munich are monitoring the striker’s progress, but Brobbey played down the speculation when asked about it.
“It is always nice when such a big club shows interest,” he said, “but I haven’t heard anything myself. So, I don’t know.”

“When I arrived here, everything was new and I wasn’t fully fit yet,” he explained. “I mainly had to work on my fitness, including substitute appearances and training sessions. I really grew in that area.”

“You just learn from that,” Brobbey said. “You become more mature on the pitch.”
