Barcelona desperate for a bargain deal as Premier League teams snub two offers for midfielder

The Catalan giants are in desperate need of a quick fix in midfield, as Gavi is currently sidelined with an injury. However, their rivals are becoming increasingly frustrated with their approach.

Barcelona is on the hunt for a budget-friendly midfielder after failing in their attempts to secure loan deals for Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City and Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur.

With a limited budget and the eventual return of Gavi from injury, the club is hesitant to make a significant financial commitment. They may prioritize long-term options if their budget allows for it this summer.

Despite their efforts, several clubs are unhappy with Barcelona’s proposals, as they have not been in line with their expectations or the needs of their players.

Manager Xavi had his eye on Phillips and Lo Celso, but those deals fell through. Manchester City ultimately received a better offer from West Ham United for Phillips, while Tottenham Hotspur felt that Barcelona’s offers for Lo Celso were not up to par.

As Barcelona continues their search for midfield cover, they are leaning towards a short-term solution for this month.
