Reports have confirmed that young Belgian star Arthur Vermeeren has decided to sign with Atletico Madrid instead of Tottenham. Meanwhile, Tottenham’s transfer activity in the January window includes a loan for Timo Werner and a permanent deal for Radu Dragusin, as well as multiple players going out on loan or completing permanent moves. Ange Postecoglou and his recruitment team are expected to make more deals before the window closes, as Daniel Levy is ready to support them in the market. Despite facing difficulties in securing deals for midfielders Conor Gallagher and Kalvin Phillips, Tottenham is rumored to be interested in a €30m deal for Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa.
After impressing in his early professional seasons, Vermeeren is also of interest to Manchester United and is set to complete a €25m transfer to Atletico Madrid after finalizing the formalities in Madrid, where he was seen arriving today. Vermeeren has attracted interest from multiple clubs, including Tottenham, soccer transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggesting “to be fast” if they want to secure a deal for Nusa and not lose out to other clubs.
