Ipswich Town are reportedly keeping close tabs on Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam as they prepare for a crucial summer window following their return to the Premier League.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has emerged as a serious name on Ipswich’s shortlist, with TWTD reporting that the club have been monitoring him for multiple transfer windows. However, despite long-term interest, no official approach has yet been made to Everton.
Iroegbunam, born in Great Barr, has built his career through several levels of English football. He developed at Sutton United and West Brom before joining Aston Villa’s academy, where he broke into senior football with a handful of appearances.
During his time at Villa, he made three starts — including two in the Premier League — and 16 appearances off the bench, while also gaining experience on loan at QPR.
His performances earned him a move to Everton in June 2024 in a deal worth around £9 million, and he has since become more involved in the first team. The midfielder has already registered 24 starts and 28 substitute appearances for the Toffees, including regular Premier League action last season.
Everton are believed to value the 22-year-old at around £20 million, and while the club were open to offers in January, a final decision on his future has not yet been made. Several clubs are understood to be monitoring his situation closely ahead of the summer window.
Ipswich, meanwhile, are expected to be very active in the market as they prepare for life back in the top flight. With promotion worth an estimated £240 million, the club are expected to significantly increase their spending power compared to their previous Premier League campaign.
That earlier season saw Ipswich invest around £112.8 million in new signings, but expectations are now that the club will go even further as they look to establish themselves at the highest level.
Iroegbunam remains one of several midfield options under consideration as Ipswich aim to strengthen key areas before the new season begins.
