Leicester player’s contract situation an ‘advantage’ for out of window transfer as club eye up late move

According to reports from Fotomac, Turkish club Trabzonspor has expressed interest in securing the services of Dennis Praet from Leicester City in the ongoing transfer window. It has been reported that the club has identified the 29-year-old midfielder as a potential transfer target and is looking to finalize the deal in the coming days.

Interestingly, Trabzonspor seems to have targeted two midfielders for potential transfers, with AC Ajaccio’s Tim Jabol-Folcarelli being the other player on their radar. However, due to the high demands from Ajaccio for their midfielder, it is believed that Trabzonspor’s focus has shifted towards Praet as a more attainable option.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that Praet’s contract with Leicester City is set to expire at the end of the season. Consequently, Leicester may view the interest from Trabzonspor as an opportunity to offload the player for a fee, rather than risk losing him on a free transfer in the summer.

Despite limited playing time this season, Praet has seen increased game time in recent fixtures, making appearances in matches against Swansea City and Stoke City. This upturn in his role within the team could influence Leicester City’s stance on his potential transfer.

Should Leicester City decide to sell Praet to Trabzonspor or any other interested club, it could serve as a means to generate a financial return on the player, rather than allowing him to depart for free at the end of his contract. The situation is one that will surely be closely monitored as the transfer window progresses.
