Riyad Mahrez has been focused on AFCON, but unfortunately, Algeria was eliminated from the tournament, finishing last in their group. Mahrez, 32, made the move from Man City to Al Ahli in the summer and has played 19 league games, scoring 8 goals.
Al Ahli is currently in 3rd place in the league, but their chances of winning the title are slim. Mahrez joined the Saudi club for a fee of £30 million and has a contract with them until 2027.
N’Golo Kantè also made the move to Saudi Arabia last summer, signing with Al Ittihad, who are currently 7th in the league. Kantè has played 16 games and scored once. He is also 1991 born and has a contract until June 2026.
Demarai Gray is the third former Leicester player in Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Ettifaq with a contract running until June 2027. Al-Ettifaq is currently 8th in the table, and Gray has scored 2 goals in 12 games.
All three players were heroes during the 2015/16 season when Leicester won the Premier League. Another hero from that team, Kasper Schmeichel, is now linked with a move back to his former club, Leicester, for a second spell next season.
Currently, Schmeichel is playing for Anderlecht and has appeared in 11 league games. They are in 2nd place in the league, 10 points behind the top spot. Schmeichel signed a one-year deal with the Belgian club, but it is unlikely that the 37-year-old would return to Leicester and not be a first-team regular, with Mads Hermansen and Jacub Stolarczyk both being considered long-term alternatives for the first-team goalkeeper position.
