Reportedly, Bournemouth have reached an agreement to sign Luis Sinisterra permanently at the end of the season. The Leeds United winger has spent this past season on loan with Bournemouth and has managed to impress manager Andoni Iraola with his performances.
Sinisterra has been a valuable asset for the Cherries, scoring three goals in 17 appearances across all competitions. His impressive performances have led the club to seek a permanent agreement with him. Sources from Sky Sports and Fabrizio Romano suggest that Bournemouth has activated their option to sign him permanently for a deal worth £20m, just £1m less than what Leeds originally paid for him from Feyenoord. It is expected that the deal will be finalized in the coming week.
If this transfer comes to fruition, it would bring an end to Sinisterra’s two-season association with Leeds United. The Colombian international initially joined Leeds in July 2022 and showcased his abilities early on with three goals in the opening weeks of the campaign. However, his progress was impeded by injuries, limiting him to just 19 appearances in the Premier League, where he scored five goals.
Leeds had hoped to retain him for their Championship campaign this season, and he did make several appearances at the beginning of the season, including scoring a goal in a match against Ipswich Town. However, Sinisterra expressed his preference to return to the Premier League, prompting his loan move to Bournemouth.
Since joining Bournemouth, Sinisterra has primarily been used as a substitute. Nonetheless, he has demonstrated his value to the team, starting in three of the last four Premier League games for the club. This indicates that he is set to play a key role for Bournemouth in the remaining months of the competition. His permanent signing would be a significant development for the club, consolidating his position as an important member of Bournemouth’s squad.
