The Brazilian shot-stopper has been strongly linked with the Italian outfit ever since Trafford’s arrival was confirmed, with it becoming increasingly clear that opportunities would be limited for him during the upcoming campaign.

Earlier concerns over a minor injury briefly cast doubt on whether the move would be delayed. However, those fears now appear to have eased considerably.

According to reports from Italy, Torino have scheduled Perri’s medical for Monday as they prepare to finalise the transfer.

The agreement is expected to see the 28-year-old join the Serie A club on a season-long loan, with Torino securing an option to make the move permanent for approximately £9.4 million if everything goes according to plan.

The Italian side are understood to be keen to complete the formalities quickly so Perri can integrate with the squad before the new domestic season begins.

While some fans believed Perri deserved another opportunity to prove himself after adapting to English football, Leeds’ promotion back to the Premier League significantly altered the club’s priorities.

Rather than waiting for further development, Farke wanted an experienced and reliable goalkeeper capable of making an immediate impact at the highest level.

That decision ultimately paved the way for Trafford’s arrival and left Perri searching for regular first-team football elsewhere.

Torino now appear ready to offer him exactly that opportunity.
