When asked by Adams if he had ever witnessed a team voluntarily choose to run extra conditioning after a brutal joint practice in his 27 years of coaching in the NFL, Schottenheimer didn’t hesitate:
“No, I have not. Especially after a joint practice.”
According to the head coach, the player-led initiative was sparked by linebacker DeMarvion Overshown before quarterback Dak Prescott immediately stepped in to rally the troops and ensure the entire squad put in the extra yards.
