Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford is singing the praises of Leicester City’s Conor Coady as both teams aim for automatic promotion from the Championship, calling him “fantastic.”
Coady’s move to Leicester last summer for a potential £8.5m fee has not resulted in much playing time at The King Power Stadium. Enzo Maresca has shown a preference for Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard, leaving Coady with just 10 appearances for the team.
Despite his limited playing time, Coady’s leadership and talent are evident as a 10-time England star. Bamford has shared a changing room with Coady at multiple levels of the youth national teams and spoke highly of his contributions on the My Mate’s A Footballer podcast.
Bamford mentioned Coady’s fantastic presence in the changing room, especially during their time with the U17 and U18 England teams where Coady served as captain. He also highlighted Coady’s talkative nature, but emphasized his positive impact on the team environment.
While it is surprising to see Coady struggle for playing time at Leicester, it is likely that he is contributing in crucial ways behind the scenes.
