“NEW LEGAL ACTION” after points deduction news today

Keith Wyness, former Everton chief, has warned that the club may pursue further legal action if they are not satisfied with the outcome of their appeal regarding the points deduction they received. On Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness, who served as CEO from 2004 to 2009 and now advises elite clubs, criticized the Premier League for opening a “can of worms” with the punishment imposed on Everton last year. The club was docked 10 points for breaching the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and they have appealed the decision. The verdict on the appeal is expected soon. Additionally, Everton is facing another PSR breach in 2024, with a case set to be heard before the end of the season. Wyness expressed dissatisfaction with the unresolved legal issues and criticized the Premier League for not knowing how to bring a closure to the situation. He warned that the club may resort to further legal action if the appeal outcome is not satisfactory.
