Everton and 777 Partners are becoming increasingly agitated with the Premier League’s slow response to their proposed takeover, according to talkSPORT sources.
Back in September, the Toffees revealed that they had reached an agreement with the American investment firm to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1 per cent majority stake in the club.
Typically, the Premier League takes up to twelve weeks to approve such transactions, but Everton is still waiting for a decision.
777 Partners, who have ownership stakes in several clubs across Europe and beyond, has been asked by the Premier League to provide more details about their funding plans for Everton.
However, the Miami-based organization claims they have already submitted this information and are willing to do so again.
In the meantime, 777 has loaned Everton over £150million to support their daily operations and the construction of their new stadium while the takeover process unfolds.
The prospective owners have an extensive portfolio of investments, ranging from sports teams to aviation, entertainment, and insurance.
Despite previous reports suggesting that the takeover was in jeopardy, 777 Partners remains committed to the deal.
Despite the delay, talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan expressed concerns over the success of the investment firm’s purchase and its potential impact on Everton.
Meanwhile, Everton is currently appealing a ten-point Premier League deduction for breaching financial rules, dropping them into the relegation zone. However, they have since climbed out and are now sitting in 17th place.
