“CONTROVERSIAL” Everton set to replace Daniel Ballard with ideal Man Utd player

Sunderland may be on the lookout for a new defender this summer as rumors emerge about the possible departure of their 24-year-old center-back Dan Ballard.

Ballard joined Sunderland in the summer of 2022 and has been a key player for them, making over 50 appearances and establishing himself as a top Championship center-back.

However, with rumors linking him to a move away from Sunderland, specifically to Everton for a reported fee of €23 million, the Black Cats may need to find a replacement for him.

One potential candidate is Manchester United youngster Will Fish, who has been impressing during his loan spell at Scottish club Hibernian. Fish has caught the eye with his strong defensive performances and his ability to bring the ball out from the back, much like Ballard.

Fish’s stats show that he excels in several defensive areas, including tackles completed, aerial duels won, and clearances per game. While he has not had many opportunities to play for Manchester United, a move to Sunderland could provide him with the chance to secure regular first-team football in the Championship.

However, Sunderland will likely face competition from other Championship clubs for Fish’s signature, and with his contract set to expire in 2025, Manchester United may be looking to cash in on him this summer. If a move for Fish does materialize, he could prove to be a worthy, cost-effective replacement for Ballard if the defender departs in the summer.
