The Italian interest in signing Leeds United center-back Charlie Cresswell during the January transfer window did not result in a deal between the two clubs materializing. Cresswell, who had hoped to solidify his place in the team after their relegation, has had a challenging season with limited playing time.
Despite a successful loan spell at Millwall last season, Cresswell has struggled to make an impact, making only five league appearances as other defenders were preferred by manager Daniel Farke. There was speculation surrounding Cresswell’s future in the summer transfer window, with teams like Middlesbrough, Ipswich, and Blackburn reportedly interested. AC Milan even made a move for the England U21 international on deadline day, although no agreement was reached.
It is likely that Cresswell will be looking to make a move in the summer in search of more playing time. Leeds may also consider either selling him or sending him out on loan to increase his value. With his contract running until 2027, the Yorkshire club has no pressure to rush into a deal that does not benefit them.
