Leeds United will be making their way to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Good Friday as the Championship resumes after the international break. This will be interim Hornets head coach Tom Cleverley’s first home game since taking over from Valerien Ismael.
Cleverley, a former Manchester United and England midfielder, stepped into the role following Ismael’s departure earlier in the month. Despite a rocky start to the season, Cleverley managed to secure a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City in his first match in charge, marking only their second win in 11 games.
Having previously coached Watford’s Under-18 team, Cleverley has expressed his ambition to bring a positive change to his team’s season which has been plagued by poor results. Sitting in 13th place in the table, Cleverley aims to boost morale, motivation, and potentially make some tactical adjustments to turn things around.
As Cleverley prepares his team to face Leeds United, there are concerns over the availability of players Ryan Andrews and Jamal Lewis who both sustained injuries and missed international duty. Andrews suffered a dead leg while Lewis had a foot problem, casting doubt over their participation in the upcoming fixture.
