Fierce battle erupts as Celtic and Rangers both vie for signature of highly sought-after Middlesbrough goalkeeper Tom Glover

Reports suggest that both Celtic and Rangers are interested in signing Middlesbrough goalkeeper Tom Glover during the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old Australian shot-stopper began his career with Tottenham before finding success with Melbourne City in the A-League, winning three consecutive Premiership titles.

Glover’s move back to England with Middlesbrough last summer has seen him make a significant impact, with 20 appearances across all competitions, including an impressive display against Aston Villa in the FA Cup. Despite not yet making his senior debut for the Socceroos, he has caught the attention of both Old Firm clubs as a potential reinforcement for their goalkeeping ranks next season.

With Celtic’s Joe Hart retiring and Rangers’ Jack Butland needing competition, both teams are eyeing Glover as a solution. However, Newcastle United and FC Copenhagen are also monitoring the situation, with injuries affecting the Magpies and Copenhagen anticipating interest in their current number one goalkeeper. Glover is under contract at Middlesbrough until 2027, making him a valuable target for clubs seeking a reliable goalkeeper in the upcoming transfer window.
