Leicester City’s Lewis Brunt has returned from a successful loan spell at Mansfield Town, as announced by the Stags’ official website. The 23-year-old defender was given permission to join Mansfield on a temporary basis last summer, where he played a key role in helping the team secure automatic promotion from League Two.
During his time at Field Mill, Brunt, a Birmingham native, made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals. Mansfield Town has now revealed that Brunt has returned to Leicester City as they prepare for life in League One.
With Leicester back in the Premier League and a competitive squad at his position, Brunt’s future at the club is uncertain. Having started his career at Aston Villa before joining Leicester on a free transfer, Brunt’s contract runs until 2025.
It is unclear if Mansfield Town will consider bringing Brunt back for another spell given his successful stint with the team. As the Stags continue to make decisions about their roster, Brunt’s future remains up in the air.
