Chris Sutton absolutely destroys clueless BBC pundit for making completely nonsensical claim about Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic fans

Brendan Rodgers’ return to Celtic caused quite a stir in the world of football punditry and among Parkhead supporters.

After Ange Postecoglou’s departure to Tottenham Hotspur, there was no doubt that Rodgers was the top choice for the Celtic hotseat, thanks to Dermot Desmond.

Rodgers officially took over as Celtic manager on June 19, 2023, sparking mixed reactions from the fans.

His aim was clear: to reclaim the league title and boost success in European competitions. While he has achieved the former, winning over skeptics along the way, the latter remains a work in progress.

Despite lingering doubts among some fans, it’s unfair to label the relationship between Rodgers and the supporters as ‘loveless’, as suggested by BBC pundit Rory Smith.

Former Celtic player Chris Sutton was quick to defend Rodgers, acknowledging the risks he took in returning to the club and the determination he showed to prove himself once again.

While there may still be some fans who need convincing, winning a league and Scottish Cup double would undoubtedly help mend any remaining rifts between Rodgers and the Celtic faithful.
