In demand is Ipswich Town’s rising star manager, Kieran McKenna. With two consecutive promotions under his belt, bringing the club back to the Premier League after a 22-year absence, it is no surprise that other clubs are eyeing him.
At just 38 years old, McKenna has gained a reputation for his straightforward management style and attractive brand of football. Despite a close call for Ipswich in the Play-Offs, McKenna rallied his team and secured their promotion.
However, celebrations in Ipswich may be short-lived as reports suggest McKenna’s representatives have engaged in discussions with Manchester United. Chelsea is also considering him as a potential replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.
With speculation mounting, Ipswich’s majority shareholder, Ed Schwartz, has flown in from the US for urgent talks with McKenna and club CEO Mark Ashton. It is believed Schwartz is prepared to offer a new contract to retain McKenna, though money may not be the deciding factor for the manager.
