While speculations have arisen linking Newcastle with an interest in Davis, it may simply be journalists connecting a player from Newcastle enjoying a successful season with his childhood team. Nevertheless, Davis is set to realize his dream of playing at St James’ Park next season, with the only question remaining being which side he will be representing.
In a recent interview clip shared by Football Daily, Davis expressed his biggest ambition of playing for Newcastle, highlighting the joy and excitement amongst supporters in the city. Although West Ham and Newcastle were previously rumored to pursue Davis in March, the interest seems to have waned since then.
With Lloyd Kelly’s expected arrival and his versatility to cover both left-back and center-back positions, Newcastle’s pursuit of Davis may have cooled off. This would be a missed opportunity for both the club and Davis himself, given his remarkable performances on the left side last season.
