PERMANENT DONE DEAL “here we go” Evan Ferguson deal finally agreed with Ireland striker on his way for medical

Later today, Evan Ferguson will be completing his loan move from Brighton to West Ham after traveling to London for a medical examination. The Hammers have managed to secure the 20-year-old striker by agreeing to cover his full salary, loan fees, and any additional costs.

The Athletic reported that West Ham became the frontrunners to sign the Ireland international after Graham Potter took charge at Brighton. Ferguson made his first-team debut under Potter’s management in August 2021 and went on to feature in various competitions, including the FA Cup and the Premier League.

Not only did West Ham compete with other Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Everton for Ferguson’s signature, but Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen also expressed interest in him. However, his potential move to Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr did not materialize.

Although there is no option to buy in the agreement between Brighton and West Ham, both parties are keen for Ferguson to gain more first-team experience. This season, injuries and the great form of other players have limited Ferguson’s playing time, but he remains eager to contribute on the pitch.

Despite his limited appearances, Ferguson came off the bench in Brighton’s recent heavy defeat to Nottingham Forest, showcasing his determination to make an impact whenever given the opportunity. Fabian Hurzeler, who previously worked with Ferguson, is excited to reunite with the talented youngster next season.
